| Athena is one of my heroes. As an artist and a very busy woman, I definitely have always felt a connection to her archetype. I created these "Athena Vessels" with her in mind, and wanted to share some information about her. Athena - (Goddess of Wisdom and Arts and Crafts) is one of the most courageous, creative and intelligent figures in Greek mythology. Athena was worshipped in ancient Greece as the symbol for innocence, victory, creativity and wisdom. |

| Each wooden "Athena" vessel is made with a hollow wooden vessel that has a removable lid. Both long and short bottles can hold a myriad of items including seed beads, sewing needles, medication, scrolls, candy, buttons, and other small trinkets or baubles. Each vessel is hand crocheted with a variety of colorful fun fibers. The wooden vessel can also be removed from its crocheted pouch. "Athena Vessels" have been embelished with buttons, Swarovski crystals, genuine stones and other creative charms and beads. She first taught the science of numbers, and all women's arts, such a cooking, weaving, and spinning. Athena created items that were useful and beautiful to behold. She was praised for her skills as a weaver. Athena energy enables a woman to regenerate by dedicating herself to useful and simple tasks - pottery, weaving, tapestry and playing music. Athena works best for us when we are exhausted by the demands of daily life - when we give ourselves solitude and silence, and time to unravel our thoughts. These wooden vessels are meant to hold useful or beautiful things that are meaningful to you. You can hang them around your neck or anywhere that you can see them throughout the day to remind you of your creative powers and inner strengths after a long day of responsibilities and hard work.
